APPLICATION
Our goal is to ensure every cat is placed in a safe, stable, & loving home where they will be cared for for life.
Our process is designed to help match each cat with the home best suited to their needs.All prospective adopters must:
1. Complete an adoption application
2. Meet the cat in person at a Meet & Greet Event
or through Pet Store Partnership locationsApplications are:
1. Accepted weekly from Monday through Sunday
2. Reviewed & processed on the following Monday Submitting an application does not guarantee approval

Typically held at Pet Store Partnership locations each weekend with these considerations:
1. Location of the Meet & Greet Events are rotated and up-to-date on our Facebook Page
2. We have Volunteers & enough available & healthy kittens to facilitate holding Meet & Greet Events.
3. Our Pet Store Partner’s space is available and does not have another event scheduledAs part of the adoption process, applicants are required to:
1. Attend a meet & greet event
2. Spend time with the cat they are interested in
These steps are a mandatory part of the matching process & allows:
Applicants to interact with the cat ask any questions
Volunteers to answer questions and ensure the right fit
Disregarding the above requirements will result in an incomplete application that will not be reviewed or processed.
Attending a Meet & Greet Event does not guarantee approval.
Final placement decisions are based on overall fit & the needs of the cat. -
To adopt, Applicants must:
1. Be at least 19 years of age & have a Co-signer if 70+
2. Have landlord / strata approval for pets if applicable
3. Have the knowledge, ability, & resources to provide lifelong care
4. Ensure all household members are aware of & agree to the adoption
5. Ensure all current household pets are receiving appropriate veterinary care -
Our Application Manager carefully reviews all completed applications to select the home that is the best overall match
With focus on the cat’s:

Temperament; Behaviour
Long-term welfare
Applications are not approved on a first-come, first-served basis
Applicants can expect to be contacted by email
Emails are sent out after the weekly Monday review -
All adopters agree to continue routine veterinary care, including:
• Vaccinations
• Wellness exams
• Illness treatment
• Emergency care
At their own expense after adoption -
Cats adopted are intended to be indoor companions unless otherwise approved based on the individual animal’s needs and circumstances.

If an adopter is unable to care for their adopted cat, they are required to
Return the cat to the rescue rather than
Surrendering
Rehoming
Transferring
to another person without our knowledge and consent. -
ABC Cat Rescue reserves the right to:
Reject or deny any adoption application
Withdraw prior approval at its sole discretion
